Description
This piece illustrates the vast levels of the ocean’s propensities. You will see the separations of the texture, color and physical reaction in the layers. My love of the ocean and it’s mesmerizing effects, had me thinking of the variety of visuals of the sea. Calm waves, turbulence, churned, sunlit, colorful....but always under a colorful sky with calming clouds. All through my life, I’ve loved the beach and the sea for the effect on my physical and emotional heart. I finally live near the beach...and everything I paint reflects this!
Alcohol ink Painted on whiteboard for its non-porous surface, no paint brushes were used. Each layer was taped off and a different household tool was used to separate the emotions. Cotton balls, gauze, felt pads, a rag, and paper towels were utilized to create a different section of the under-worldly effects. A sprayer with alcohol was used for the ocean spray. Alcohol ink captured my attention for its color and transparency which allows for color layering with chemical reactions which are very serendipitous.
