This triptych is a celebration of color in three parts composited together to hang as one piece. The colors were dripped onto the tile and manipulated with a variety of household items, none of which were an actual paintbrush. The movement created by the ink is natural and the vivid color is multiplied by the overlapping of the inks when they spread. Alcohol inks have a life of their own and while they can be manipulated, they often do much of the creative work by themselves. Alene Sirott-Cope is a professional graphic designer, potter, mixed media artist, photographer, art director, and art educator in several universities in the New England area. She uses her expertise with graphic design concepts, including color, shape, and texture, in all of her pieces. She enjoys experimenting with assorted production techniques and tries to find new combinations that produce interesting 3 dimensional mixed media art pieces.
